Pat Kelley

L.Ac, Licensed Acupuncturist, joined Carolina Partners in 2013. He is nationally board certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (OM) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This distinction represents one of the highest levels of professional competence in acupuncture and Chinese herbology.

Pat's clinical expertise includes using acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping, moxibustion, electrical stimulation (E-stim) acupuncture, ear acupuncture, and Dr. Tan's Balance Method for acupuncture to improve patient health and wellness, reduce stress, and alleviate pain. He has expertise in treating stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, addiction, migraine headache, hypertension, fatigue, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel sundrome (IBS). He also treats a rainge of musculoskeletal pain including pain in the back, neck and shoulder, elbow and wrist, and knee and ankle. Pat is especially interested in applying acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas to address mental-emotional concerns. 

Pat completed a rigorous 4-year Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City (PCOM-NY) where he treated more than 400 patients in the school's acupuncture clinic. He also completed an externship at the Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center where he treated patients with various cancer diagnoses and survivorship issues. He is the winner of two merit-based scholarships in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) studies.

Beyond his education in TCM, Pat earned a Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.A. in English Literature from Virginia Tech. He has also completed training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine.

Pat's treatment philosophy is to provide compassionate and effective care to all patients by meeting patients where they are and enrolling them in the healing process.
