raleigh psychiatryGetting professional assistance to identify and help treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders may require a licensed psychiatrist. This is a mental health professional who has completed a doctorate in the study of mental health, including substance abuse disorders. These professionals are trained in handling the sudden onsets of symptoms, or helping to alleviate chronic symptoms that have persisted over a long period of time.

Carolina Partners in Mental Health has a topnotch team of psychiatrists throughout North Carolina, each of whom practice Raleigh psychiatry.  We know that finding the right psychiatrist on your own can be a bit challenging, especially if you’re not already sure what to look for; as such, our staff are familiar with everyone on the team, and once you connect with us, we can work with you to find the right Raleigh psychiatry specialist in your area.

Our specialists practice different modalities. Finding the right best psychiatrists for your condition starts by identifying your condition. This typically starts with a case history and mental status examination, which may also include psychiatric testing. Once your condition has been identified, you can find the psychiatrist that is the right fit for you.

What to expect with North Raleigh psychiatry

Once you start with your psychiatrist, you’ll likely begin with some psychotherapy, sometimes called “talk therapy”. The goal of this type of therapy is to to address some of your symptoms and begin to improve your quality of life. Depending on the severity of the condition, the treatment can last from a few sessions to a few years.

Additionally, medications can be used by psychiatrists to treat psychiatric disorders and help restore chemical imbalances in brain chemistry; medications may be used in conjunction with other therapy methods.
