Candace Killian
MSSW, LCSW, Master of Science in Social Work and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, joined Carolina Partners in 2007.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology from Clemson University and completed her Masters of Science of Social Work at Columbia University in New York.  Ms. Killian worked as an EAP counselor for the employees of five major medical institutions in NYC.  She has provided child and adolescent outpatient psychotherapy at Carolinas Medical Behavioral Health Center in Charlotte, NC, where she gained expertise in trauma treatment.  She was a member of the Juvenile Sex Offender treatment team and developed a comprehensive group treatment program for the treatment of child sexual abuse survivors.  Ms. Killian relocated to Washington, DC where she assisted with the National Child Abuse and Neglect Incidence Study -4.  She continued to treat children and adults in private practice in Alexandria, VA, focusing on depression, anxiety, early childhood mental health and parenting issues.  Ms. Killian currently treats children and adults in our Carolina Partners Counseling Center in Durham, NC, where she specializes in individual, family and group treatment of children (3-17) and young adults (18-35) with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma/abuse history, child behavior issues, anger, parenting/family issues and life stage adjustments.
