Marjorie Howe MSW, LCSW, Master of Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has been with Carolina Partners since 2001.  She earned her BA and her MSW from Syracuse University in 1976.  Ms. Howe has spent years in private practice, as a managing partner in The Family Stress Center and Aging Family Services in Raleigh, NC.  She has been a long standing member of the NC Society for Clinical Social Work, serving on their Board for many years in numerous capacities and also serving on the Board for the Clinical Social Work Federation.  Ms. Howe treats adults in a private Carolina Partners office in Cary, NC.  She treats anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and mood disorders.  Ms. Howe treats clients individually, in couples and in groups.  She is board certified in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis which she uses for weight loss, anxiety disorders, habit disorders (ie. nail biting, smoking cessation, etc,) chronic pain management, stress reduction, and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) management. 

Ms. Howe is now offering a Post Bariatric Surgery Supportive Therapy Group

Meets 2 Tuesdays a month 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Insurance covers; most people pay a copay.

Group focuses on the obstacles to sustaining weight loss following surgery and provides a forum to discuss residual issues that surgery did not resolve and that might hinder successful weight loss maintenance.  Group members discuss how to deal with compulsive feelings without turning to food, how to keep motivated, and other relevant topics.
