Mary Hartsell
DNP, MSN, FNP, PMHNP-F, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Nursing,
Family Nurse Practitioner, and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse
Practitioner, has been with Carolina Partners since 2001. She earned her MSN and Post-Masters degree of Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke
University School of Nursing, and a second Post-Masters degree of Family
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Rush University in
Chicago, Illinois. She then earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at
Duke University from the School of Nursing with her
focus being improving quality of services by implementing and measuring
evidenced based care. Ms. Hartsell's previous work history includes time as an owner and practitioner at Coordinated Care, Inc, a psychiatric home care and Rockingham Family Health, Psychological Counseling Center, nurse manager at the VA
Hospital, Director of psychiatric services at the Moses Cone Hospital,
and Staff Nurse at both Charter Hospital and NC Baptist Hospital. She
earned membership in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for
Nursing and was selected as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow as well as
a Great 100 Nurse in NC. She has presented locally and nationally. Her
presentations have been extensive including chosen to present an
exemplar paper in theory development, numerous presentations in quality and cost of providing care, medical coding, and changing care
practices. Recently, she has received extensive postgraduate training in spirituality
and meditation. Dr. Hartsell specializes in
both psychiatric mental health and medical psychiatry for children, adolescents, adults, and families
in our Durham,
NC office.
