Pat Kelley, L.Ac
Pat Kelley joined Carolina Partners in 2013. He is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the State of North Carolina and is nationally board certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (OM) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  This distinction represents one of the highest levels of professional competence in acupuncture and Chinese herbology.

Pat completed a rigorous 4-year Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City (PCOM-NY).  His training included: acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping, moxabustion, ear acupuncture, Dr. Tan’s Balance Method for acupuncture, tui na medical massage, qigong, Western disease diagnosis, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and hands-on treatment of more than 400 patients in the school’s on-campus acupuncture clinic.  He also completed an externship at the Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center where he treated patients with various cancer diagnoses and survivorship issues. He is the winner of two merit-based scholarships in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) studies: the 2010 Trudy McAlister Foundation Scholarship and the 2006 Catherine Helm Scholarship in Oriental Medicine.

Beyond his education in TCM, Pat earned a Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.A. in English literature from Virginia Tech.  He has also completed training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine.

Pat’s treatment philosophy is to provide compassionate and effective care to all patients by meeting patients where they are and by making goals that empower and enroll patients in the healing process.

Pat’s clinical expertise includes using acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping, moxibustion, electrical stimulation (E-stim) acupuncture, ear acupuncture, Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, qi gong and visualization to improve patient health and wellness, reduce stress, and alleviate pain in various conditions, including insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, hypertension, headache, and musculoskeletal pain.  Pat is especially interested in applying acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas to address mental-emotional concerns.

Pat treats patients at our Carolina Partners Wellness Center in Raleigh, NC, and Chapel Hill, NC.
