Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Phone 919-792-3940 | www.carolinapartnerstms.com

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a new alternative treatment for depression. TMS is a non-invasive, medication-free, outpatient therapy. This innovative treatment is FDA approved and has helped thousands of depression patients who have not received adequate results from antidepressants.

Does it work?

Yes! Our TMS remission rate at Carolina Partners is 52.4%, and our response rate is approximately 2/3 of patients. Compare this to the medication-based STAR-D trial for similar patients, which has only a 6.9% remission rate, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our outcomes. Many people who suffer from depression find medication ineffective. TMS therapy offers an alternative to anti-depressants which can cause many side-effects. A typical TMS treatment plan runs 4-6 weeks with a 37 minute treament 5 days a week. Many patients come in over their lunch break - it's that easy! Check out this next video for a more detailed explanation of how it works, and more patient testimonies.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about TMS therapy. Please call our TMS coordinator Linda Marshall at 919-792-3940 or click here for more information.
