Erin McConahy graduated with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2015. She has a range of experience working as a Physician Assistant in both primary and psychiatric settings. Before coming to Carolina Partners, she treated an average of 25 patients a day, listening to their individual needs and creating a personalized wellness plan for each one of them. Erin strongly believes in a well-rounded approach to patient care — both mental and physical health must be treated in order to achieve real wellness. Erin currently treats ages 18 and up at our Raleigh location, where she specializes substance abuse, PTSD, self-harm, and OCD.

Why did you choose mental health as a career path?

“I worked in family practice for almost 3 years. I could feel that the mental health population was seriously underserved and misunderstood. My goal moving forward is to be an advocate for patients.”
